GUEST SPEAKER ORGANISER / PR: Mardi Nicolson
Mardi has recently moved from Townville to Malanda for a 'tree change'.
She started her working life in retail however after seeking a change became a qualified Beauty Therapist and worked for some years in this profession. Since then she has worked in various government departments including several years at the Department of Primary Industries and also IT and Clincs at Queensland Health. More recently Mardi worked for the Minister for Main Roads, the Hon Craig Wallace MP. After spending several years in this position Mardi, her husband and three children moved to Malanda for a better quality family life. I have always been very interested in being my own boss and working for myself. I joined TBWN to gain more knowledge about what it takes to have a small business. Who better to learn from than women who have already been brave enough to take the leap and start their own business? Owning a business is not all about knowledge; it's also about have enough faith to make your dream a reality.
However in the words of Frank Scully ~ "Why not go out on a limb? Isn't that where the fruit is?"
