There will be a motivational presentation by Success with Attitude’s Trevor Tim who will ‘aim to empower you to awaken the potential you have within’. Success with Attitude is dedicated to re-shaping people’s lives with its unique brand of positivity and life skills. Harnessing the will to succeed that lies within each one of us, they rekindle a positive attitude to life and its complexities. Trevor’s reputation is such that he and business partner Bram Collins are in great demand by business, youth and sporting organisations.

Sen Ekanayake of The Marketing Professionals will promote the benefits of planned marketing campaigns and his personal experience of their effectiveness. More ideas to improve your marketing skills – the aspect of small business that many find the most difficult - are never wasted. Sen brings with him over 15 years of experience from Fortune 500 Companies in the areas of marketing management, project management and event management. He has held senior positions with Heineken International, Coca–Cola Amatil and Woolworths Ltd.

Hello everybody
Last month saw us having a lovely evening at the Touch of Paradise restaurant with guest speaker Gabbie Plumb, Gabbie's down to earth approach to her talk was so entertaining, and she made quite an impression on the group, with many wanting to attend some of Gabbies workshops.
Now its a week away from the combined meeting in Mareeba, all the plans are in place and we ask, if you are going, for you to please book and pay now so we have a strong idea of how many to cater for. It will be a fantastic evening and one not to be missed.

We Can be Heroes Just for one Day – Car Rally fundraiser for Cairns Base Hospital 8am start on Sunday 24th June at the Pier Tavern. Rally goes from Cairns-Tablelands-Cairns. Restaurant 07 Event The restaurant 07 event will be a stylish showcase of the nation’s best regional producers and business service providers who want to do business directly with restaurateurs, chefs, sommeliers and restaurant managers. There will be 4,000+ industry professionals coming to the event at The Royal Hall of Industries at Moore Park in Sydney on the 13th – 14th August later this year who will be looking to source new produce and services that will help them to create more profitable businesses. Volunteer Small Equipment Grants Be quick as applications close Friday 22 June. There are two grants available, VSEG and VSEG-Sport. website
Round 3 Building Enrpreneurship in Small Business Applications close July 2 2007 for funding initiatives in Training and Mentoring, Succession Planning, Incubators. website
Festivals Australia Funding Funding closes 15 July for projects commencing after 1 January 2008. Organisation that manage regular festivals are eligible to apply for funding. website
In Market Experience Scholarship Due July 19 for training or study programs in 2008. This is a useful grant for smaller agribusinesses. website
National Crime Prevention funding 5th round closes 28th June. There are five categories for this non-recurrent funding. website
Coles Group Community Fund This fund supports local charitable organisations with the aim of building healthier communities. Priority areas are health and wellbeing, environment, and life-long learning. Applications for up to $50,000 close 31 August 2007 and further information is available from communityfund@colesgroup.com.au or 03 9829 4434.
Our Place, Our Future Funding Funds planning initiatives and projects which will lead to sustainable rural and remote Queensland communities. Applications close 30 July and 22 October and further information is available from 1300 794 611 or online at website.
CWA community grants for drought affected areas CWA has $4 million to distribute to both families and community organisations in areas affected by drought. Community organisations can access up to $3,000 for events or support programs for drought affected communities. Community Water Grants Proponents must register before submitting a full grant application. Online applications close 11.00 am, 4 July. Further information is available by calling 1800 780 730.
