July Dinner Meeting Guest Speaker - Pam Birkett –
Daintree Discovery Centre
As owner of a multi award winning, eco-tourism facility, Pam Birkett has some great stories to tell about the ‘trials and tribulations’ of running a small business in an isolated rural area.
The Daintree Discovery Centre is situated in the heart of the rainforest, 10 kms north of the Daintree River. They have no mains power, no reticulated water, no rubbish collection and no mobile phone reception.
Pam has agreed to share some of her experiences with us and explain how perseverance and passion can overcome the most challenging obstacles |

President's
Report
Its all Good” was the catch cry from our guest speaker Trevor Tim last month at our combined meeting with the Mareeba Business Women’s Group. And that really summed up the evening. Over100 people who braved the chilly conditions to come to Skyburry’s and partake of good food, good wine, and great company enjoyed a wonderful evening .The response to the night was overwhelming with numbers having to be cut due to space restrictions. Which goes to say “ first in best dressed” still applies especially to TBWN functions. All feed back on the night has been positive, with many people wanting us to make it an annual event.
This month’s dinner meeting is being held at the Malanda Dairy Centre, (refer to invitation for details) with Guest speaker Pam Birkett ( Daintree Discovery Centre) and all the normal activities , so book now so you don’t miss out. Remember to ask along a friend who has not been to one of our dinners and help spread the word about our club. Hope you are all enjoying our frosty weather, keep warm and I hope to see you all at the Dairy Centre on the 25th.
